"The positive reviews for this man absolutely baffle me. From the start it was nothing but problems. The biggest of which being that I was offered coverage at one rate, which I agreed to and signed on for, only to discover much later that I was being charged $70 more per month than I had agreed to. When I brought this to their attention, I was told the initial quote was just an estimate. I would never have signed on for that higher price, and was never told of the large discrepancy but they signed me on anyway without my consent for that amount. When I asked to be reimbursed, I was told there was nothing they could do to compensate me for their own wrongdoing and was instead offered Drive Safe to save money, which only made me wonder why I was never offered such an option in the first place. John claimed to have proof in his notes that they had sent me a letter regarding this higher price. A letter I never received. When I said to him to show me the note then where I agreed to that price, John simply ignored me, and never responded. I also learned that having a rental covered was an entirely separate option that I did not have, and I did not have it because it was once again never offered or explained. I learned this upon finding my window smashed and learning it could not be repaired for two weeks in below freezing temperatures. Not the best time to find out. And while some of this may seem like common insurance knowledge to some, this was my first time getting insurance of my own and I was directed to John as the person who helps new people. So he knew very well that I wouldn’t have this knowledge and took advantage of that. Or was negligent, or just bad at his job at best. When my car was sideswiped parked on the street, the best they could offer me was to get it repaired myself and they’d reimburse me. I couldn’t afford that and it has never been repaired. Despite having done nothing to help me for my window or my mirror, both of these are now showing up as claims as I try and look for other insurance and affecting my rates. But perhaps the most alarming thing is the fact that they have me listed as at fault in an accident at a time when I did not have a license or a vehicle. This is also causing extreme problems with my rates. When I brought these to their attention, they told me that there was nothing they could do about it, yet when I called another company, I was immediately told that it was my current insurance providers job to contact Lexus Nexus, and take care of the problem. I find it very surprising and alarming that John does not know this. Every problem that I have ever brought to their attention they have told me it is out of their hands, and that there is nothing they can do despite the fact that the problems are almost always their fault. John also likes to whine a lot and claim that he is being attacked when you get frustrated and stop being polite. Unfortunately polite gets you nowhere with these people. I have no doubt he’ll come here to reply, and say how nasty I’ve been. But I only get nasty when I’ve been mistreated. And that is exactly how I feel. I would advise anyone even considering using John, his team, or State Farm in general to run in the other direction. They are not helpful, and they cannot be trusted. These other reviewers may have somehow gotten what they wanted out of this team, but if you want someone you can trust go to someone else."
